I am Donald Conner, Jerry's cousin. His mother Edith (Aunt Kay) and my mother Helen were sisters. My family lived in Cleveland, TN. When our parents got together for special days in Etowah or Athens, Jerry and I enjoyed being with each other. Upon his passing, I remember Jerry fondly. We both joined the Navy in the '60s, but he stayed longer than I did. Our paths crossed a few times in San Diego, where my sister, Billie Owens, lived with her husband Marvin, who was also in the Navy. My wife Jeanie and I were married in 1971 and moved to South Carolina. I lost contact with Jerry and his sisters and brothers. An early memory I have is of Jerry and I playing at our grandmother's, Dora Minge, little house in Athens. We were both under eight years old at that time. I add my condolences to his wife and family on Jerry's passing with a heavy heart flooded with memories of days gone by.
