Obituary of Dorothy Burnette Hannabass

Dorothy Burnette Hannabass,  93 of Goodview, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025 at her residence.  She was born August 21, 1931, a daughter of the late William Homer Burnette and Bertha Snow Turner Burnette.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Horace Hannabass. 

She was retired after 41 years as a teacher with Bedford County Public Schools and also as a U. S. Postal Clerk in the Goodview Post Office.

She is survived by her son, Terry Robert Hannabass (Drexan); her daughter, Margaret Hannabass Pagans (Gary) and her only granddaughter, Lallie Grace Hannabass.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Diamond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3541 Horseshoe Bend Road, Moneta, VA 24121.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Goodview Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at 3 PM with Rev. Joey Phillips and Rev. Rucker Burnette officiating.    Interment will follow in Diamond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
