Obituary of Shirley Overstreet Morgan

Shirley Overstreet Morgan, 81 of  Huddleston, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at  Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on Wednesday, October 27, 1943  in New Jersey, a daughter of the late Robert Overstreet and Gaynelle Parker Overstreet.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Perry "P.W." Washington Morgan, Jr. and her brother, Gary Overstreet.

She was retired from Rubatex Corporation with 35 years service as an administrative assistant.  She also helped on the family farm and was a member of  Palestine Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Eric Morgan (Susan Tuck); daughter, Kimberly M Nowocin (Josh); grandsons, Aiden & Tristen; sisters-in-law, Cathey M. Bays (Donnie), Charlene Overstreet; nephews, Perry Bays, Nolan Bays (Beth), Brian Bays, Noah Overstreet (Channing), Aaron Overstreet (Rebecca) & their daughter, Magnolia.  

The family requests that those wishing to make memorials consider Palestine Baptist Church, 9244 Smith Mountain Lake Parkway, Huddleston, VA 24104.  

The family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Palestine Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Brandon Tuck officiating.  Interment will follow in the Palestine Church Cemetery.
