Obituary of Margaret Lemon Miller

Margaret “Nana” Miller, 84 of Bedford, left her earthly home on Thursday, July 21, 2022 for her heavenly home to join her Lord and Savior, her husband, and best friend of fifty-three years, Garland “Shag” Miller, her parents, Luther and Eva Lemon and many family members and friends.  

She leaves behind a loving family and is survived by her three devoted children who supported her so much after the passing of her husband; her sons, Ed (Lucy), Mike (Amy) and daughter Toni; her most precious grandchildren, Edward (Kelly), Meredith (Justin), Michael & A. J.; Pop’s and Nana’s boy, A.B. (Dana), her wonderful great grandchildren, Elsie, Edward, Naomi and Marshall; sisters, Etta Newcomb, Sarah Mitchell; brother, Bud Lemon (Starlett); many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Aunt Sissy; special friend, Ruby Smith and her church family at Calvary United Methodist Church where she was a member as well as many special caregivers. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 588, Rustburg, VA 24588 or Centra Bedford Hospice, 1621 Whitfield Drive, Suite C, Bedford, VA 24523.

Private graveside services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 11 AM at Virginia Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

The family will receive friends at her home.

Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
