James Evyne Martin 94 of Blairs, Va. passed away Wednesday February 9, 2022 at his residence. He was born in the White House community of Bedford County on February 17, 1927, a son of the late William Leslie Martin and Fleeta Belle Mayhew Martin. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jerry Martin. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Christine Louise Martin; his daughters, Carolyn Cooper (Paul), Wanda Keen (Leonard) and Vickie Bowen (Stanley); his sons, Roger Martin (Linda), Danny Martin (Pam) and Larry Martin (Sandra); his sister, Arlene Murphy (Wayne); his brother, Donald Martin (Wanda) as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. "Pamp" as he was known to his grandchildren, loved the Lord with all his heart. He was active in Church for many years. He also had a great love for music and he played the guitar and sang for the Lord’s glory. He will be greatly missed but he is at home with the Lord. As Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”. We love you. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday February 11, 2022 at the Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Wayne Murphy and Rev. Becky Moss officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30AM-1:00PM prior to the service. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
